Education: University of California at Santa Barbara (B.A., 1980); California Western School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1984). Reported Decisions: Travelers Indemnity Company v. Alliance Shippers, Inc. (1986) 654 F. Supp. 840, finding that a shipper's agent is not a freight forwarder subject to liability for damage to goods in transit under 49 U.S.C §11707. Ferguson v. Friendfinder (2002) 94 Cal.App.4th 255, finding that California law regulating unsolicited e-mail advertisements does not violate the dormant commerce clause of the United States Constitution. Hypertouch, Inc. v. Superior Court (Perry Johnson, Inc.) (2005) 128 Cal.App.4th 1527, 27 Cal.Rptr.3d 839, finding that California law does not permit opt-in class actions.
